What is GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certification?
The Global Organic Textile Standard International Working Group is formed from four recognized member organisations; OTA (USA), IVN (Germany), Soil Association (UK) and JOCA (Japan). They contribute to GOTS together with international organizations and experts, using their experience in organic agriculture, environmental and socially responsible textile production.
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the most important worldwide processing standard for textile products made from organic fibres. While it sets very high standards at all stages of the organic textile chain, it also demands compliance with requirements regarding social responsibility.
In order to ensure sufficient confidence in the consumer, to determine globally recognizable requirements in order to guarantee the organic status of textile products, starting from the harvest of the raw material, from environmentally and socially responsible production to labeling, (GOTS) is established by international companies that are competent in creating standards. developed.
Inspection and certification of production areas, businesses and trading organizations are provided by independent organizations accredited based on the GOTS monitoring system. This is the assurance of textile products that have received GOTS certification.
Upon completion of the GOTS certification process, the certified organization must have a license to show that it is included in the GOTS program, which includes the use of the standard and the use of the GOTS logo on the GOTS products it produces.
GOTS Public Database is a practical tool for users to search for information about organizations that have received GOTS certification in the supply chain, their location, production areas and products that have received GOTS certification, in line with their needs.
